For as long as we can remember, motocross has always been awe-inspiring to us. I can remember personally, back in the mid-80's, going to the local BMX track in Niagara Falls, NY, high-fiving my brother as the expert riders threw out whips in front of the crowd, under the lights. Different things about the sport may get excited to go out and twist the throttle. Mabye you prefer a relaxing weekend on the trails, taking in the scenery. Perhaps your that fast expert racer that loves the thrill of coming back from 9th place and working hard at chasing down the leaders. Or mabye just the simple nostalgic feeling of being woken up at 5:45 a.m., by that guy that starts his kids KX65, and insists on getting his main jet dialed in before practice. Finally, you go outside to see who this guys is, and notice a light haze coming up from the freshly tilled soil , and a heavy dew had fallen on everyones brightly colored racebikes and ez-ups...all silent for the time being. Motocross is a truly amazing sport, and we are proud to be a part of it along with you.
Well to tell you how Novik Gloves came about, it all started in July of 2008, on a roadtrip from Colorado to New Berlin NY, for the Unadilla National. On this trip the idea was born. We had the idea of creating a glove company who had the focus on design, without the limits of having to fit into the patterns and/or colors of pant and jersey combinations. We wanted to provide riders the freedom of a glove with an overall different look and style of their apparal, yet provide a product superior in quality and fit. We also wanted to help out our supported riders and give them the exposure they need and deserve, and help them get to the next level of competition.
From then on the idea grew, and we proceded to create the company. We came to the point where we needed a name for the company to create a company image. This was a long process. We had several pages of possible names, but none of them hit the spot perfectly. One day we were describing our company and mentioned that our designs were very innovative, and our style was innovic. Hmmm, innovic. We liked the sound of that word and decided to work with that. We sent it over to our design nerd, and he came back with NOVIK GLOVES. This seemed more symetrical, and seemed to pop. People always ask us, " Why NOVIK?" Well, why not?! Now you heard it firsthand.
